Abstract
This research is a study of leadership style practices of service organizations managers in Aruba. The study solely aimed at exploring, revealing and attempted to provide a presentation to understand the leadership styles that are practiced in the Aruba Public Service Organizations (APSOs). It is based on the perspective of the four leadership styles frames; structural frame, human resources frame, political frame and symbolic frame, and is drawn from the research conducted by a scholar in Turkey on leadership styles. The study design is a descriptive, detailed quantitative exploratory research that was conducted by doing a survey to gather the required data and information. For this study, the survey was undertaken with Bolman and Deal’s Leadership Orientation Questionnaires' (LOQ). This study will provide evidence for further studies on leadership style practices, performance, and choice in Aruba organizations. Organizations need leaders and managers with a holistic framework that encourages how to deal with a range of significant issues. From this study, it appears that all organizations as a whole were identified as the structural frame in the first place, while the Managers rated themselvels strongly in the Human resources frame. However, the Employees strongly rated their Managers in the structural frame with the highest scores. The APSOs Managers need to practice a leadership style with different competencies. Specifically, a leadership style practice of a behavior pattern that attempts to influence others and a given situation to
acomplish objectives. Furthermore, the ability to coach and build people progressively by practicing a leadership style of mixed competencies is essential for organizations’ existence for the function that they fulfill in society as a whole.
