Abstract
This research thesis is the final assignment of the four-year bachelor program in Organization Governance & Management (OGM) of the University of Aruba. It is a qualitative research study on human resource implementation and policy of the public organizations to single mother employees. “Single mother is seen as the mother who does not have a husband or partner, the mother who does not have what most two-parent families have (Ahmad, 2011, p. 142).” They are mostly the sole provider and breadwinner. In their case, they need to juggle both these roles. How they balance work and family life is important. The match between the human resource departments in the public organizations shows that there is no separate policy for single parents. The implementation of flexibility was shown to be greater and more training, courses, and workshops are required for personal development. Nevertheless, education is an important aspect to make it as single mother.
