Abstract
The results of this final research project include that to achieve a sustainable circular ewaste policy in Aruba shifts in waste management practices, investment in e-waste processing, changes and implementation in governmental policies and public awareness are required. Aruba has a serious problem with waste management and it can harm the environment and public health. Based on the four bottlenecks created by Feenstra and Alofs (2021), this research explores the possibilities of implementing an effective e-waste management policy in Aruba. The main research question for this research is “What are the current levels of knowledge, awareness, priorities, and commitment among policymakers, e-waste intensive companies, and national waste processors regarding the implementation of an e-waste policy in Aruba?”. Further, this research will take a qualitative approach with purposive sampling. The number of semi-interviews conducted was 9 and the targeted participants for interviews are policymakers, waste management companies, and e-waste intensive companies. In addition, the method of data analysis was thematic by using manually coding on Google Docs.
