This investigation is essential because though there has been progress in the area of gender equality, women are still underrepresented in leadership positions. This study contributes to the advancement of gender equality and the data acquired enables comparative studies to be conducted. A qualitative research approach was selected for this study and it consisted of conducting semi-structured interviews with twelve female directors of public sector organizations. The qualitative data was then analyzed using a thematic analysis in which the key themes were identified. The main research question this study sought to answer was What are the factors that contribute to the success of women in Aruba’s public sector management positions?
