Improving the Recruitment Procedure at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino: Designing New Methods for an Effective Recruitment. Bachelor dissertation. University of Aruba. 104 pp.https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.14473/872This thesis presents a research about improving the recruitment procedure at the Renaissance Aruba by designing new methods to make their recruitment procedure more effective. The topic was chosen to find a way to avoid placing the wrong person in the wrong job position. This is because a person who is placed in a position that does not suit their personality or character, can result in the person being unhappy which can lead to conflict in the workplace, poor performances and not meeting the goals of the company. The main research question for this thesis is: How can improvements be made at the Renaissance Aruba towards a more effective recruitment policy for better positioning of future employees? The method that was chosen for this thesis was a qualitative research in the form of conducting interviews. The respondents of this research were both managers and employees of the Renaissance Aruba, more specifically, from the departments of Front Office (FO), Food & Beverage (F&B), Human Resources (HR) and Casino. The topic list for the interviews consisted of: the aspects considered at a recruitment procedure, knowing when an employee fits into the job positions, causes for wrong hire along with contributing and obstructing factors of an effective recruitment procedure. The results illustrate that there are certain topics that the managers and employees agree on, such as aspects that are important to consider at the recruitment procedure and recommendations for improvements. However, there are many topics that they have different opinions on, such as causes for wrong hire, that they disagree on. Based on the answers and recommendations that were given by the respondents and the literature chosen for this thesis, a new recruitment procedure was developed to help improve the recruitment procedure at the Renaissance Aruba.EnglishRecruitment procedureImprovementsHospitalityArubaImproving the Recruitment Procedure at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino: Designing New Methods for an Effective RecruitmentBachelor dissertation
